The Aegenis Group Hosts Online Merchant Only PCI-DSS Forum

The Aegenis Group officially launched its Merchant Only Forum this week. The forum is specifically designed as a medium for merchants to discuss their experience with the PCI-DSS compliance process with their peers.

Park City, UT (PRWEB) July 18, 2007 -- The Aegenis Group officially launched its Merchant Only Forum this week. The forum allows merchants to get advice and information regarding the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) from their peers without other parties attempting to use the forum as a medium for marketing products and services. Membership to the forum is restricted only to those merchants that register and are vetted by The Aegenis Group as legitimate merchant members. The Aegenis Group will also moderate the forum and offer limited guidance to the members.

The forum is something that addresses a long-term need in the industry, according to Michael Dahn, co-founder of The Aegenis Group. "Merchants have been asking for a medium through which they can gather impartial information and learn from their peers about the PCI-DSS compliance process for some time," said Mr. Dahn. "By providing this forum, The Aegenis Group believes that the free exchange of information and experience will spur greater adoption and understanding of the important security practices embodied in the PCI-DSS."

The Aegenis Group currently hosts a discussion board dedicated to issues surrounding the PCI-DSS, which can be found at http://forum.aegenis.com. Merchants will have access to all the discussions currently on the board, as well as a dedicated portion of the site which can only be accessed by approved merchants. To enroll in the merchant only forum, users should register on the PCI Forum and then send an email to merchantforum @ aegenis.com requesting access to the Merchant Only section. Once approved, the user will receive an email alerting them that access has been granted. The merchant will then have access to all of the discussion boards, as well as the restricted Merchant Only group. The efforts are part of The Aegenis Group's larger initiatives to offer clarity to the discussion that currently surrounds the PCI-DSS standard and its implementation.
