Australia's Glamorous Gold Coast Real Estate Still Has A Village Heart

Australia's Gold Coast has a village heart. Real Estate redevelopment on Chevron Island, adjacent to Surfers Paradise, is creating a vibrant bustling local community of funky shops and fresh cafes. Prime real estate on Chevron Island is tightly held and 237 Stanhill Drive is fine example of the new development breathing new life into this centrally located village.

Gold Coast, Australia (PRWEB) July 19, 2007 -- A boost in the number of Sydney and Melbourne baby boomer buyers heading north to Queensland to retire is driving a prestige property boom on the Gold Coast, especially in the Surfers Paradise precinct.

That's why we believe 273 Stanhill Drive stands alone in the market as the best example of Chevron Island's stunning urban renewal process
The centrally located village haven Chevron Island has recorded a flurry of multi-million dollar sales in the past year, many of them settled by southern buyers looking for chic, open-planned homes using the best natural finishes.

A Central location on Australia's Gold Coast and livability seem to be the keys - the best properties are invariably situated on the banks of the Nerang River framing Surfers Paradise, and enjoying combined water and city views with the contemporary open plan style homes.

Dozens of the best sites have already been snapped up, and older houses are being demolished, to make way for stylish new residences with modern architectural flair.

According to Gold Coast Real Estate sales agent Martin Toomey, most of these new properties are tightly held, so when one comes onto the market, it deserves special attention.

"That's why we believe 273 Stanhill Drive stands alone in the market as the best example of Chevron Island's stunning urban renewal process," says Mr Toomey.

"It's not just a brand new home; it's a fashionable, functional waterfront masterpiece that's recently won a prestigious Design Award. The quality furnishings by leading designer's can be best described as fun and relaxed, totally befitting the home's timeless design and magnificent waterfront position.

"It's also a sign of bigger and better things to come for Chevron Island, which now has so much more to offer residents - there's a bustling local village of funky shops and fresh cafes. It's more like Oxford Street in Sydney, but it's all easy walking distance from Surfers" he says.

The owner of 273 Stanhill Drive, Stephen Kirkham, had a clear idea of the type of home he wanted to build - and spared no expense in achieving his dream.

"I could have built two duplexes, sold them, and made more money - but I saw that the Chevron Island area was changing. There's a new generation of residents driving a growing need for quality freestanding homes on Chevron." says Mr Kirkham.

"The home is a timeless creation, with clean modern lines and finishes - but it still exudes warmth because of the extensive use of timber and terrazite floors, giving it more of a comfortable modern feel," he says.

Mr Kirkham says Chevron Island is an emerging 'hot spot', with prices set to skyrocket.

"The key is Chevron's location - you can't get much more central on the Gold Coast, yet you don't even need to leave the island to enjoy a vibrant café lifestyle.

"It's all happening on Chevron; you're close to the business hubs of Surfers and Southport, so greater demand for homes nearby is inevitable. I think Chevron Island is certainly going to be an area that leaps ahead in value in coming years."

Two other properties on Stanhill Drive have sold for well over two million dollars in the past year, evidence that the Chevron Island market is quickly catching up to its considerably more expensive waterfront neighbours on Isle of Capri and Paradise Waters - where homes regularly sell for over five million dollars.

Martin Toomey believes the home represents excellent value for money, especially given Chevron's status as a 'hot spot'.

"It's a really stunning property, beautifully built and with amazing water views. I think it's the best buy on Chevron Island across all price brackets; it's the jewel in Chevron's crown," says Mr Toomey.
