Ashton-under-Lyne, UK (PRWEB) July 20, 2007 -- There are two opportunities to see Hawke International's ranges of Ex-certified electrical termination and connection products at Offshore Europe 2007. The company will exhibit a full range of certified products alongside two Hubbell International companies, Chalmit Lighting and Victor Lighting. The displays include cable glands, connectors and enclosures, all engineered to secure and protect electrical installations in potentially explosive and hazardous areas.

Hawke cable glands address the need for fixed wire, reliable permanent connections. They provide secure cable anchorage, protection from the ingress of water and long life seals that preserve seal together with hazardous area protection complying with various international standards.

The 501/453 Universal cable gland is the most widely specified cable glands in the world. This robust, corrosion resistant gland is easy to install and inspect, allowing instant confirmation of seal integrity. Deluge protection seals are included to cope with extreme weather and wash down, providing protection to DTS01. Rated performance of the Hawke International Universal cable gland has been certified from -60 to +80 degrees Centigrade, comfortably exceeding the requirements for almost any environment.

The Ex-series connectors ensure safety and promote productivity during construction and operation. In OEM applications, hundreds of man hours can be saved and plant can be brought into service more quickly by the elimination of hard wired conventional terminations to service modules. During operations, short-duration electrical connections can be made safely with minimal process disruption

InstrunEx, ControlEx and PowerEx are a complete suite of connectors for instrumentation, control and power applications. These connectors give the same high level of safety assurance provided by Hawke cable glands and also give greater flexibility and, in some circumstances, remove the requirement for a hot work permits prior to connection/disconnection. Connector pin and sockets include gold-plated, multi-lam contacts for long life and reliability.

The Hawke range of termination products are further expanded with the range of hazardous area enclosures. There are three models in the EZE enclosure range, permitting the termination of up to 60 cables depending on cable and gland/connector size. All models are based on an IP66 rated clam-shell enclosure in electro-polished grade 316L stainless steel, with cable entry through the base mounted gland plates.

The unique design of the EZE enclosure gives a high degree of natural protection against water deluge - sealing gaskets are protected from the elements and not exposed to degradation by chemicals or UV light. Secured by just two bolts, the lid hinges out of the way to give clear access to wiring. Rail mounted terminals are installed and spaced away from the back plate to allow under wiring. A range of conventional stainless steel terminal boxes which offer cable access from top side or base is also available.

Hawke's PL6 and PL7 series GRP junction boxes meet the need for compact and robust enclosures for use in situations that are chemically or mechanically aggressive. These enclosures will withstand an impact force of 20Nm and have resistance to a wide spectrum of corrosive chemicals. A long-life captive silicone gasket gives IP66/67 environmental sealing performance.
