Zyprexa Web Site Launched

In response to the growing controversy surrounding the drug Zyprexa, Williams Khekher launched a web site to act as a resource for people interested in this situation.

Houston, TX (PRWEB) July 19, 2007 -- In response to growing controversy surrounding the drug Zyprexa, which is manufactured by Eli, Lilly and Company, and its potential link to the development of diabetes in those patients who use it, Williams Kherkher of Houston, Texas, has launched a Web site, whose URL is http://www.zyprexalawsuitattorney.com.

This Web site was built for the purpose of providing information regarding the drug, its manufacturer, its use and the potential side effects that have been linked to Zyprexa. Williams Kherkher is led by Attorneys John Eddy Williams and Steve Kherkerk, and has 26 attorneys and over 120 support staff and has worked in the area of mass tort litigation since 1983.

Zyprexa has been in use for the treatment of several serious psychological disorders, including dementia, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. However, reports soon began to surface linking Zyprexa with the development of diabetes, and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ultimately published a "Dear Doctor" letter that had been written by Eli Lilly to medical providers on its Web site.

The link to this letter can be found here:
http://www.fda.gov/medWatch/SAFETY/2004/zyprexa.htm

Additionally, the FDA updated its Patient Information sheet regarding Zyprexa[http://www.zyprexalawsuitattorney.com in September of 2006 to include updated information regarding patients who use Zyprexa and who could be at-risk for the development of serious side effects:

As a result of these reports, lawsuits have begun to be filed. Examples of them are below:

  • Montana v. Eli Lilly & Co., No. ADV-2007-188, 1st Judicial District Court, Lewis & Clark County, Montana.
  • In Re: Zyprexa Products Liability Litigation, No. 04-1596, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York.

The growing scrutiny being applied to Zyprexa and Eli, Lilly and Company by the FDA and by several states, as seen by the citations above, led Williams Kherkher to formulate and release this Web site.
