International Folk Alliance Conference Celebrates 20th Anniversary at Their Annual Convention Feburary 20 - 24, 2008 in Memphis, Tenn.
Celebrating 20 years, the 2008 International Folk Alliance Conference will be held February 20-24, 2008 at the Downtown Marriott, Memphis, Tennessee. Since 1989, the Folk Alliance has served as the headquarters for the folk music and dance industry. With over 2,000 members worldwide it is one of the five largest music conferences in North America.

Over the years, the Folk Alliance organization has grown to include record companies, publishers, presenters, agents, managers, music support services, manufacturers and artists that work in the folk world. It has six regional affiliates that provide the grass roots efforts in their respective markets. The Folk Alliance continues to grow and mature providing a unique range of member services to our community.
The Folk Alliance conference holds four days/evenings/nights of industry workshops, panels, exhibits, showcases, outreach concerts and more for the international music and dance community. The international organization moved their offices to Memphis, Home of the Blues, Birthplace of Rock n Roll, in July of 2005 in order to be a part of a community actively working to support music. That Memphis is celebrating 50 Years of Soul this year is an example of how the community is the right place for the Folk Alliance to be.
This past February Memphis welcomed the conference attendees with amazing service, fabulous food and even carriage rides down Main Street, as well as tours to Sun Studios, Stax Museum, the Center for Southern Culture and more. The conference attendees in turn brought over 1.5 million dollars worth of business to the area.
