Carbonite Launches Online Backup Service in German for Germany, Austria and Switzerland

Carbonite, Inc., and their exclusive German publisher, Globell, B.V., a subsidiary of net AG (FSE: NET), recently announced the commercial launch of the German version of Carbonite Online PCBackup™ in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Boston, MA and Venlo, Netherlands (PRWEB) July 19, 2007 -- Carbonite, Inc., and their exclusive German publisher, Globell, B.V., a subsidiary of net AG (FSE: NET), recently announced the commercial launch of the German version of Carbonite Online PCBackup™ in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The fully-localized version of Carbonite can now be downloaded at www.carbonite-backup.de.

Carbonite Online PCBackup™ is the leading consumer backup service in the United States and Canada. The German version is now available for purchase at €49.95 (including VAT) for a one-year subscription and €89.95 for a two-year subscription. An unlimited 15-day free trial of the German version, with no credit card required, is also available at www.carbonite-backup.de.

Carbonite installs with just a few clicks and runs quietly in the background, continuously backing up all data files. It is completely automatic. Once installed, Carbonite finds all new and changed files and continues to back them up whenever the PC is connected to the Internet. Storage capacity is unlimited – users never outgrow their Carbonite subscription no matter how much data they have. Carbonite never interferes with the speed of the user’s PC or Internet browsing. Data is encrypted before leaving the local computer and is transmitted to Carbonite’s secure data center using HTTPS (SSL) for total privacy.

Floyd Bradley, Carbonite’s EVP International, said “German-speaking Europe is a big potential market for Carbonite. We are delighted to be partnering with Globell to bring a German version of Carbonite to market. This launch marks Carbonite’s formal introduction to the European Continent, a market which should one day be as big for us as the North American market.”

Joost van Leur, Managing Director of Globell, commented “Everyone at Globell is extremely pleased with the release of the German version of Carbonite. This clever, easy-to-use and extremely affordable Online PCBackup™ service in the German language is a major step toward penetration of the central European market. Interest in online backup solutions is soaring in our territory, and Carbonite is now very well positioned for success in this market.”
