Almeda University, a leader in online and distance education, is pleased to announce the celebration of its 10th anniversary. Founded in 1997, Almeda offers accessible, self-paced Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degree programs for mature students in a non-traditional environment.

"We're proud of our mission and our record," says Richard Franklin at Almeda University. "At Almeda, students who are unable to participate in a traditional classroom environment -- for any reason -- can fulfill their dreams of earning a degree."

Almeda's record is impressive, indeed. Throughout ten years of service, the University has enjoyed a spotless history -- no complaints -- with the Better Business Bureau. Since Almeda's inception, it has conferred over 25,000 degrees, including 4,000 Associate degrees, 18,000 Bachelor degrees, 3,000 Master degrees, and 44 Doctoral degrees. Degrees have been issued to Almeda University graduates in 145 countries. Almeda University has enrolled approximately 3,500 students each year since 2001. In the past ten years, Almeda staff have responded to over 10 million emails and reviewed almost a quarter-million applications for admission. Almeda's website has been ranked among the 1,500 most popular sites on the Internet.

The hallmark of an Almeda education is its virtual campus -- a learning community characterized by technological excellence, educational innovation, personal enrichment, and a unique ability to accommodate all styles of learning. Almeda's delivery method makes education convenient and accessible for students everywhere, regardless of family, work, and personal circumstances.

In addition, Almeda University values the knowledge and skills its students have gleaned as a result of their life experiences. Students who have practical experience in a skilled trade or office environment, have previously taken college classes, or have done volunteer work may be able to apply those experiences to credits toward their degrees through Almeda's Life Experience program. Almeda's widely regarded Prior Learning Assessment provides an innovative, standardized method for determining equivalencies and assigning credits.

The Council accredits Almeda University for Distance Education Accreditation, the Association for Online Academic Excellence, and Interfaith Education Ministries. In addition, Almeda is a member of the USA Chamber of E-Commerce, ePublicEye.com, the Association of International Education Assessors, the Netcheck Commerce Bureau, and the National Black Business Trade Association.

According to Richard Franklin, "Almeda University has grown steadily over the past 10 years, in terms of enrollment, degrees awarded, and course offerings. Now we can't wait to see what the next 10 years will bring."

Almeda University is an online institute that has been serving the international community since 1997. Over the past 10 years, Almeda has evolved to educate an expanding population through cutting edge curriculum design based on our students' needs and professional service. Almeda University is ideal for many people seeking advanced education because of the wide range of Associates, Bachelor's and Master's degrees offered through diverse fields, including business, arts and sciences, and most technical fields.
