YourTeacher.com and Prince George's County Public Schools Team Up to Help At-Risk Students with Math

Prince George's County Public Schools has renewed its annual subscription to YourTeacher.com's Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 instruction for 7,500 at-risk Students.

Upper Marlboro, MD (PRWEB) July 25, 2007 -- Prince George's County Public Schools and YourTeacher.com have teamed up again to help at-risk students with Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. As part of the agreement, Prince George's County Public Schools has renewed its license to YourTeacher.com's online math instruction for 7,500 at-risk students. This renewal will be the second year that the school district has implemented YourTeacher.com to help improve performance of their at-risk student population.

Prince George's County Public Schools is the second largest school system in the state of Maryland with over 134,000 students. Starting two years ago, Prince George's decided to implement YourTeacher.com in order to address the needs of 7,500 low-performing at-risk students. This segment of students was particularly challenging for a large district which like many districts in the country have a difficult time hiring and retaining qualified math teachers. Since that time, Prince George's has renewed its license for the second year in a row.

According to Charles Hermes, CEO of YourTeacher.com, "We are extremely excited that Prince George's has chosen to renew its commitment to YourTeacher.com's online math instruction. We feel that the at Risk student population which the district has targeted for remediation is a perfect fit with our instruction, especially in light of the difficulty in finding qualified math help for every student."
