500,000 Athletes Unlevel The Playing Field
Athletic Republic celebrates milestone as it debuts in 160 locations across the country.
Fargo, North Dakota (PRWEB) July 26, 2007 -- The banner of a new republic was unfurled today in the Upper Midwest. Athletic Republic™ introduced a new name and logo for the science-based sports training movement launched 17 years ago by exercise physiologist John Frappier.
At the same time, Athletic Republic--160 members strong in 33 states and 3 foreign countries--celebrated the fact that, over the years, some 500,000 athletes have gained a distinct competitive advantage through Frappier's research-based, sport specific Acceleration Training programs. From 1996 and 2002 Olympic Champions Dan O'Brien and Tristan Gale, respectively, to 2005 NFL MVP Shaun Alexander, the legacy of success for Frappier trained athletes is remarkable.
According to Athletic Republic CEO Charlie Graves: "Our past success was built upon the pioneering research of John Frappier, his patented product ingenuity and the strength of our growing network of facilities. To have trained 500,000 athletes is a tremendous accomplishment, and it's a milestone we have eagerly anticipated."
Graves added: "Our new Athletic Republic brand positions us as a vital community resource for athletes of all ages and abilities who want to improve themselves on the field, the court, the rink or in life. And our new tagline--Unlevel the playing field--says it all: Athletic Republic is where athletes that give 110% get the extra 10%."
In addition to the new Athletic Republic name and logo, athletes throughout the Athletic Republic network will benefit from a number of new brand initiatives--all intended to make intelligent sports training more accessible:
| | - AthleticRepublic.com will offer My Republic, a members-only space chock full of training information, test results and interactive features.
- Accelerate, the official magazine of Athletic Republic, will feature Training Table, a column on nutrition, and Science Class, a behind-the-scenes look into what makes Acceleration Training unique.
- And, many facilities will offer a series of Sport-specific Combines that allow athletes to test their skills and to measure their own progress or their performance against their peers'.

When John Frappier opened his first training center in Bismarck, North Dakota, he had a clear vision of what the intersection of science and sports training should look like, and he was obsessed with understanding precisely how the body responds to training. Seventeen years later, Frappier's scientific process for developing training programs remains unchanged: research and test, then individualize the protocol to meet an athlete's specific needs.
Athletic Republic's bottom line today: every athlete that walks through our doors receives an individually designed, personal training regimen based on sound science and the athlete's goals. Whether or not that's an unfair advantage is the competition's problem.
