D.B. Sweeney to Premiere "Two Tickets To Paradise" at the Action On Film International Film Festival
Actor, producer, director D.B. Sweeney to premiere his new star studded film at the Long Beach Action On Film International Film Festival on Saturday July 28, 2007.
(PRWEB) July 26, 2007 -- Actor D.B. Sweeney, who is the new producer and director of the star studded film, "Two Tickets to Paradise," recently spoke with Action On Film Producer Del Weston about premiering the film at the 2007 AOF Fest.
Weston was interested in how Sweeney attracted so many top performers for his film.
"Almost everybody in the cast is somebody I've previously worked with or just known for years. I am so grateful to all of them for doing this for peanuts, especially Ed Harris who is the best actor in America," Sweeney said.
Sweeney also plays a part in the film.
"I wanted to play this part, the goofy rock and roller who can't hang up his guitar when it's clear to everyone else that he should," he said. " I ended up producing and directing because that was the only path to getting it done. I ended up financing it, too (with bank loans) so it's a bit of a sweat right now until it's sold."
Weston, the creator of the film festival, acknowledged the hard work Sweeney and other filmmakers go through.
"That is one of the reasons I started the AOF Festival, to give everyone a shot at showcasing their work to the world," Weston said. "Whether it's a $20 million project or something that cost some guy in Cleveland his college savings, I want the work to be seen."
Sweeney explained how he got involved in the independent film festival.
"I heard about the fest from a colleague, he said it was fun and film-loving. Not pretentious like so many others," he said.
It's a definite that the Action On Film Festival is fast becoming one of the top venues for independent filmmakers to showcase their work.
The Action On Film International Film Festival takes place at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center on July 27-29, 2007 and will premiere nearly 225 films in 40 categories including drama, comedy, animation, action and martial arts.
To see "Two Tickets To Paradise " and to meet D.B. Sweeney and members of the cast visit the AOF Festival on July 28 at the Award Dinner or on July 29 at 3 p.m. for the premiere of the film.
