Digital Darkroom Guru Reviews Adobe Photoshop CS3 for AIRC

Adobe Photoshop power user Diane Miller puts the latest version of the industry standard image editing software through its paces for Adorama's e-zine.

New York, NY (PRWEB) July 31, 2007 -- Earlier this year, Adobe Photoshop CS3 was announced as a significant upgrade to the industry standard image editing software. But is it worth upgrading from previous versions? And if a photographer has never bought Adobe Photoshop before, is now the time? These questions and more are addressed by image editing master Diane Miller in her review of Adobe Photoshop CS3 (http://www.adorama.com/catalog.tpl?article=073007&op=academy_new), published today by the AIRC (Adorama Imaging Resource Center).

"Adobe Photoshop CS3 is a very significant upgrade," notes Miller. "Its file manager, Bridge, has been overhauled, there have been major improvements to its Camera Raw feature, and there are some amazing new tools in the image-editing program itself."
Miller walks users through key new features, such as the Quick Selection Tool, Smart Filters, and Black and White.

"Many professional photographers and serious hobbyists currently using Adobe Photoshop CS2 and earlier are basing their decisions to upgrade to CS3 on reviews such as Diane's," notes AIRC editor Mason Resnick. "In addition to the cost of the software, photographers must budget the time to learn its new tricks any other changes in the user interface. Our goal in publishing this article is to help photographers make a buying and using decision based the advice of those already using the program. Diane Miller's a power Photoshop user, and speaks from vast experience."

Online photo magazine at a retail site?

AIRC - Adorama Imaging Resource Center (http://www.adorama.com/catalog.tpl?op=academy) is the choice destination for photographers at all levels of experience who want to improve their picture-taking and image-editing skills. AIRC has over 250 how-to photography articles, buying guides and picture-selling advice, as well as daily breaking news about the photography industry, written by a team of top photography experts.

Why would Adorama, a well-respected New York-based camera retailer, publish what is essentially an online photo magazine? Resnick says, "we believe the more information and knowledge we can provide, the more people will trust Adorama both as a reliable information source and as a place where they can feel comfortable buying their photographic gear."
