Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) July 31, 2007 -- Things are about to get animated in the editorial cartoon section at uclick.com! Mark Fiore, the San Francisco-based cartoonist who the Wall Street Journal recently called "the undisputed guru of the form," and whose animated editorial cartoons regularly skewer the latest political headliners, has signed a syndication deal with Universal Press Syndicate and uclick. This launch brings his work to uclick's extensive network of online clients comprised of leading search portals, news sites and online newspapers.

Fiore's weekly editorial shorts were recently launched on uclick.com and on uclick's premium subscription service, MyComicsPage.com.

"I'm excited about working with uclick and Universal Press Syndicate to bring my work to a wider audience," Fiore said. "The best part is, instead of just repurposing print cartoons for the web, we'll be able to showcase my animated political cartoons that are created for a world where motion, voice and music are able to reach out and grab the audience in a much more immersive way. It's the perfect time to be bringing animation to a growing online world."

Beginning his cartooning in the realm of newsprint, Fiore's traditional political cartooning career culminated in a staff position at the San Jose Mercury News. He happily left the print world in 2001 to devote all his energies to animation, and has since built a large fan base with his sharp weekly cartoons. Though his work tends to lean left of political center, Fiore revels in lampooning hypocrisy on the right and the left.

Mark Fiore has received a Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, an Online Journalism Award from the Online News Association and has twice received the top honor for New Media from The National Cartoonists Society. Fiore's cartoons are now featured on the websites of several major news organizations, including CBSNews.com and the San Francisco Chronicle's SFGate.com.

"Mark Fiore is among the most talented political satirists working today," said uclick CEO Chris Pizey. "We're thrilled to be the new syndication partner for these brilliant animated cartoons."

Fans can watch Fiore's animated editorial cartoons at www.markfiore.com or www.uclick.com. They can also add Fiore's cartoons to their customized email of favorite comics through MyComicsPage, uclick's premium subscription service. Extensive Fiore archives will soon be available exclusively to MyComicsPage members.

About Mark Fiore:
Mark Fiore creates animated political cartoons from an undisclosed location somewhere in San Francisco. His work appears regularly in a wide variety of online news web sites. After a short stint at the San Jose Mercury News as their staff cartoonist creating traditional political cartoons in a terribly stifling fluorescent windowless office, Fiore happily fled the print world in 2001 to devote all of his energies to creating animated work. Mark Fiore was awarded a Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award and has also received an Online Journalism Award from the Online News Association and the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. With two awards from the National Cartoonists Society for his work in new media under his belt, Fiore also seems to excel at writing in the third person.
