FlightSafety Academy Names Stanley Jhagroo as New Manager

Flight Safety Academy, a leading U.S. pilot training facility, announces their promotion of Stanley Jhagroo to manager.

La Guardia Airport, NY (PRWEB) August 11, 2007 -- FlightSafety International is pleased to announce that Stanley Jhagroo has been promoted to Manager of the FlightSafety Academy in Vero Beach, Florida. He succeeds Dick Skovgaard, who is retiring.

"We are pleased Stanley has earned this well deserved promotion," said Greg McGowan, Vice President of Operations at FlightSafety International. "Stanley has the leadership skills and experience required to manage the Academy effectively and to help ensure that our graduates are fully prepared to pursue careers as professional pilots."

Stanley began his career with FlightSafety in 1998 and has held a number of positions with increasing responsibility at the Academy since then. They include serving as Program Manager, Director of Standards, Chief Instructor, Assistant Manager and Quality Management Systems Specialist. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate and is a certified Flight Instructor. His broad experience prior to joining FlightSafety includes flying corporate and commercial aircraft, flight instruction and management responsibilities with aviation learning institutions and operators in Florida, Guyana, Turks and Caicos, and Trinidad.

Dick Skovgaard joined FlightSafety in 1989 following a distinguished 33-year career with the United States Air Force. He served as Director of Training and Assistant Manager prior to becoming Manager of the FlightSafety Academy in 2000.

About FlightSafety Academy:

The FlightSafety Academy campus at Vero Beach Airport accommodates up to 600 students and offers a full complement of classrooms, administrative offices, aircraft maintenance hangars and housing facilities. The Academy's fleet of single and twin-engine aircraft, including two aerobatic aircraft for upset recovery training, is one of the largest in the United States and students have onsite access to full flight Level D qualified simulators and other advanced technology training devices. Their current fleet consists of 20 multi-engine and 62 single-engine aircraft, including two aerobatic aircraft for upset recovery training.
