Aerospace supplier 2Source begins implementation of Supplier Excellence Alliance Lean Enterprise System.

2Source Manufacturing Inc., a growing leader in precision machined bushings for the aerospace industry, has become a member of the Supplier Excellence Alliance (SEA). SEA is an alliance of aerospace and defense prime and tier one contractors and their suppliers who are working together to develop an increasingly efficient supply chain.

The SEA Lean Enterprise System is the continuous improvement system developed by SEA member companies. The Lean Enterprise System helps suppliers build new capabilities that will enable them to better support the emerging needs of their customers. The Lean Enterprise System also helps establish a culture where lean production principles and standard work are applied throughout the organization to ensure sustained improvements in delivery and quality, while reducing lead times and cost.

2Source Manufacturing Inc., is an AS9100 certified leader in precision machined bushings and bushing-like parts for aircraft landing gears, nacelles, flight surfaces and controls. The company's strong commitment to lean manufacturing and its reputation for consistent quality and delivery has enabled it to develop a loyal and growing customer base. 2Source is dedicated to lean supply chain management and has embraced the Toyota Production System (TPS) in order to reduce lead times, maintain zero interruptions, and continually drive down costs for its worldwide customers.

"To best position ourselves as a preferred supplier to the aerospace industry we have already made significant investments in lean initiatives," observes Robert Glegg, CEO of 2Source. "Implementing the SEA Lean Enterprise System is another way we are strategically accelerating and enhancing our efforts towards becoming a progressively leaner organization. In today's competitive aerospace environment there's no such thing as being lean enough."

"We are moving forward quickly in implementing the SEA's Lean Enterprise System so our entire operation can become more involved in our ongoing lean journey," notes Arthur Harrison, VP Operations. "Already the results are impressive and our 2Source team members across the organization are growing better trained and committed. They now contribute to our lean culture by actively working together to uphold quality, reduce waste and shorten lead times for our customers."

As a non-profit alliance of leading industry prime and tier-one contractors, and production suppliers, SEA's purpose is to accelerate supply chain performance, ensuring suppliers become more competitive, while helping the supply chain become more adaptive, agile and aligned.
