HaiVision and Obzerv Collaborate to Assure High Quality Encoding of Long Range Surveillance Video

This technical collaboration is aimed to assure codec performance for the specific attributes of video generated by long range night surveillance cameras.

The rigors of such video include high contrasts, low light scenes combined with rapid scene motion created during long range panning. The technical collaboration between Obzerv and HaiVision has been established to provide performance benchmarks during encoder development and market test activities. These advance testing procedures assure integrators that HaiVision's codec systems are performance tunable for the most severe video applications. Already a first round of tests earlier this year has demonstrated excellent performance for an integration solution.

"Long range night surveillance applications require very flexible bandwidth management capabilities, operation over unreliable networks, and high quality efficient compression capable of dealing with scenes exhibiting fast moving and high dynamic range characteristics. Many encoders have trouble dealing reliably with such constraints, even freezing or interrupting services. We submitted HaiVision systems with pathological video sequences that tripped other systems and they came true perfectly," states Deni Bonnier, President of Obzerv Technologies.
