New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) August 2, 2007
The New Orleans Marriott is undertaking its largest and most comprehensive renovation ever, encompassing virtually every aspect of the hotel and totaling nearly $38 million. This New Orleans French Quarter hotel is one of the city's leading hotels with 1,290 guest rooms and over 80,000 square feet of meeting space housing the largest hotel ballroom in Louisiana, at an impressive 27,500 square feet.
The massive eight-figure makeover is adding a fresh and contemporary look and feel to the guestrooms as well as most of the public spaces and is raising the bar on nearly every inch of the property. This New Orleans hotel transformation, which began in 2005 with an expected completion later this year, includes significant enhancements to all accommodations including guest suites, the lobby, restaurant, concierge lounge, meeting space, technology upgrades and more.
With the Crescent City in a period of rebirth, the New Orleans Marriott is at the forefront of the city's renewal and its travel industry with millions in investments pouring into the French Quarter hotel. The guest rooms, concierge lounge and fitness facility renovations are already complete. Below is a highlight of the noteworthy developments:
- Lobby - The lobby's renovation will include a heightened sense of arrival with a new lobby lounge, revamped front desk configuration with self check-in kiosks, enhanced guest-friendly bell and concierge stands, additional floor space, improved sightlines, modernized décor and more. A Starbucks Coffee and a FedEx/Kinkos will be added off of the lobby.
- Restaurant - The renovation of the hotel's dining options will offer improved interiors, expanded seating, a separate room for private functions and a completely revamped menu incorporating New Orleans, Cajun, French and Creole cuisine based on a unique "grill" concept.
- Grand Ballroom/Pre-function space - With the group market in mind, the transformation of the hotel's function space will include a complete refurbishment of the Grand Ballroom, break-out rooms and foyer areas.
- Windows - All new ecologically and energy efficient Low E, double insulated glass windows will be added to all rooms and public spaces boosting the hotel's position as an environmentally friendly facility.
In addition to the aforementioned renovations, the New Orleans Marriott will enjoy other remarkable changes including a new, state-of-the-art escalator and elevator system, a restoration of the parking garage and more.
"It is an exciting time to be part of the team seeing these major developments through at the New Orleans Marriott," said Gil Zanchi, general manager for this New Orleans French Quarter hotel. "These groundbreaking enhancements will keep our property at the forefront of the competitive hotel market in New Orleans. More importantly, we are confident these changes will be a significant contributor to helping the city return to a tier one tourism destination."
