Caribbean Culture in New York metro area gets support from Suntrail Clothing.
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 2, 2007 -- Last Saturday, July 21, 2007, Jersey City held their annual West Indian/Caribbean Carnival Parade, and Suntrail Clothing was there to support it. The Queens-based sportswear clothing line sponsored the event by supplying t-shirts and caps for the staff and volunteers. Co-founder Berris Jones made their presence known with Suntrail's cheerful mobile billboard, and Wassy, NY'S # 1 Singing MC tossed logo T-shirts, caps and tote bags into the crowd between reggae and soca (soul calypso) performances. The celebration was the epitome of the warm joyfulness that Suntrail hopes to convey through its clothing line.
Mr. Jones believes that there is a market for casualwear in which wearers can feel connected to their Caribbean roots or simply their love of the culture. By supporting local events such as Carnival celebrations and hosting their own, such as the upcoming Fashion Parades during halftime at the Caribbean Cup soccer league's season-ending championship game on September 2, 2007. He plans to make Suntrail Clothing an integral part of Caribbean life in the New York metro area.
Suntrail Clothing (http://suntrailclothing.com) was founded in 2000 by husband-and-wife team Berris and Tascar Jones with the idea to create colorful island-themed casual items that could be worn for everyday lounging as well as for beach parties and clubbing. Along with the fabric colors and cuts, the conch shell logo and the company slogan "Wear It For Fun" are intended to remind one of the warm sunshine, tranquil blue waters and white sand beaches of the islands. "Suntrail Clothing is for people who want to have fun," says Mr. Jones. "People who like to party and vacation, people who like to kick back and have a really good time, the people with 'fun DNA', like our slogan says."
Suntrail Clothing currently features a variety of men's and women's tank tops, T-shirts, polo shirts and caps meant to invoke the laid-back, party atmosphere of tropical locales. Berris and Tascar plan to expand the line to include swimwear, jeans, sandals and accessories in colors and designs that will reflect the culture and lifestyle of the Caribbean.
