Milwaukee, WI (PRWEB) August 3, 2007
Author and Wisconsin native Amatore Mille will make his annual trek from Wall Street finance to the Wisconsin State Fair to assist with managing Mille's Italian Sausage, his family's seventy-five-year-old Italian sausage concession. Mille, whose book Eleven Days in August: A Chronicle of Summers (Trafford Publishing, ISBN 1-4120-8648-5, Trade paperback, 223 pp, 5½ x 8, $19.95) presents a memoir and collection of anecdotes relating to the Mille family's tradition of selling Italian sausage sandwiches at The Wisconsin State Fair, will be available for press interviews and book signings.
Eleven Days in August: A Chronicle of Summers documents a world where Italian immigrant grandparents leave their indelible mark on three subsequent generations, where a father focuses on the family business and his family for eleven days each summer, and where children grow up with sawdust underfoot and State Fair attractions all around. In episodes that brilliantly transition between present and past, the author takes you on a tour of family escapades that are hilarious, reflective, and touching. Through misadventures and near-tragedy, Mille finally learns what the family business is really all about. Barbara Wilson Sjoholm has described Amatore Mille's prose-like style as "excellent storytelling" and "great Americana". Eleven Days in August: A Chronicle of Summers was selected as a Reviewer's Choice by Midwest Book Review and as a Reviewer's Choice by Internet Book Watch. Additionally, Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle had requested a meeting with Mille and received a signed book to add as a permanent addition to the Governor's mansion library.
