We saw that there was an adequate market for companies interested in scanning paper easily from remote locations, so we decided to give our customers the ability to securely capture that paper using the World-Wide-Web
Tampa, Fla. (PRWEB) August 2, 2007
Ademero, Inc. today announced the release of Content Central™ version 3.5. The updated version provides additional features and enhancements to the browser-based, document management software application.
Content Central™ now offers an in-browser scanning component known as DirectScan™. Ordinary document scanners can be controlled from and capture to any available web browser that can connect to the document management software. While increasing productivity, it also provides new opportunities for those in high-volume environments such as engineering, mortgage and legal. "We saw that there was an adequate market for companies interested in scanning paper easily from remote locations, so we decided to give our customers the ability to securely capture that paper using the World-Wide-Web," says Anthony Nelson, lead architect for Content Central™.
New DMS Appliances
Ademero has always offered Content Central™ as a software-only solution for organizations with at least one existing server. Now it also can be purchased in appliance form with both server hardware and software bundled as a turn-key solution. Three appliance configurations have been designed with both the small business and corporate enterprise in mind.
Improved Management Features
Much more than a retrieval engine, Content Central™ allows users to manage documents within their web browsers in a manner similar to paper-based environments, but with automation and stronger organization. Users can capture paper documents or upload electronic files and subsequently retrieve and manage the information as required. The software converts all paper scans into fully-searchable PDF files complete with metadata and OCR for full-text searching. Documents within the system may be sent via e-mail to requesting parties, checked out for modifications, or appended with additional pages just to name a few. Users of the software need no more than a standard web browser to be able to access all of its features--a design providing easy deployment with minimal training requirements.
