Newton, MASS. (PRWEB) August 6, 2007 -- A new, free white paper is available to help hospitals prepare for unannounced Joint Commission (formerly JCAHO) audits of Environment of Care (EC) programs. The white paper details how Cape Cod Hospital (CCH) officials achieved compliance in anticipation of future audits.

Cape Cod Hospital's Transition to Continuous Compliance Status within the Environment of Care
In an effort to encourage hospitals to maintain a state of continuous compliance, the Joint Commission (formerly JCAHO) last year announced a new policy of conducting unannounced surveys. The policy encourages institutions to strengthen and maintain their EC programs in a constant state of readiness. To comply, facilities are finding that a higher level of coordination is needed among all EC departments to ensure that all the necessary data collection and reporting deadlines are met.

In the white paper CCH officials, including the Manager of Communications & Emergency Management and the Senior Director of Ancillary Operations and Safety, share details of the new systems and processes developed by CCH during its EC program upgrade.

The CCH officials also describe the implementation of EH&E's web-based EC regulatory compliance solution, eH&E-Healthcare, as a means of providing centralized access to documents and data, as a source of policy and plan templates, databases and reporting tools - as well as direct contact with EH&E's EC consultants.
