Irvine, CA (PRWEB) August 3, 2007
Stanton Barrett Motorsports announced today that Stanton Barrett will pilot the No. 30 Stanton Barrett Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS in a fun and unique campaign in the NASCAR Busch Series for Montreal's inaugural race. This weekend at Montreal, the team will mark its debut of an additional primary sponsor; Yari Film Group's feature film Resurrecting the Champ on the Interush SBM #30 car.
A highly respected Hollywood stuntman known for accomplishing amazing feats, Barrett is a talented NASCAR driver.
After a successful career in go-karts with an amazing 21 wins in 28 starts, Barrett made his NASCAR Busch Series debut in 1992 in the famous Oxford 250, at the time America's richest short track race. He garnered attention by earning the outside pole in his very first NASCAR Busch Series race. He has run a partial schedule in the NASCAR Busch Series ever since capturing a total of one top-5 and seven top-10 finishes. In addition, Barrett has competed in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series on a limited basis since 1999.
"I am excited to have this opportunity with Yari Film Group having, Resurrecting the Champ as one of our sponsors," said Barrett. "It is very exciting to share two things I love and have a passion for, the movie business and auto racing. For the first time in my career I have the opportunity to run a sponsor from the movie industry's that I have worked in for over 18 years."
"Stanton's personal passions fit so nicely into the fabric of the film as it is a great story about struggle, life, passion, pursuit and the will to win," says Kathryn. "We are excited to sponsor Stanton Barrett in the #30 Resurrecting the Champ and Interush car this weekend in Montreal."
Later this summer, Resurrecting the Champ, being released August 24, 2007 starring Samuel L. Jackson and Josh Hartnett will open nationwide. Kathryn Morris, Rachel Nichols, David Paymer. Teri Hatcher and Alan Alda also star. Struggling sports reporter Erik Kernan (Hartnett) encounters a homeless man who calls himself "Champ" (Jackson) only to determine that he is boxing legend Battling Bob Satterfield who was believed to have passed away long ago. Soon, reporting Champ's story becomes Erik's title shot. What begins as the young journalist's opportunity to revive Champ's story and come out from under the shadow of both his father's as well as his wife's success becomes a very personal and life-altering journey.
"I am really excited to see Kathryn Morris at the track as I have worked with her before she is super cool and a huge racing fan," said Stanton Barrett, Owner/Driver of Stanton Barrett Motorsports. "Throughout the year, we are excited to feature several of our new sponsorship partners as part of our race team and "Resurrecting the Champ" hits home with a similar story of inspiration that racing and my family brings to me."
This is Interush's second year as a primary sponsorship of the SBM NASCAR Team and the exposure in NASCAR has played a vital role in becoming one of the fastest growing Internet companies in Asia. "NASCAR is a tremendous promotional vehicle for companies or organizations who wish to bring attention and credibility to their products or services," says Marty Matthews, CEO of Interush. "We have developed a co-operative marketing program that makes it easy and affordable to get the power of the NASCAR brand working for marketers."
