Orangeburg, NY (PRWEB) August 3, 2007
Union State Bank (ÂUSBÂ) and Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains have teamed up to provided added benefit to students. The school is sponsoring its students with SAGE Tuition Rewards through the program offered exclusively by the Bank.
ÂThe rising cost of college tuition is a legitimate concern among our customers. The SAGE program is a great opportunity for the Bank to help support the efforts of those who are saving for higher education, said Raymond J. Crotty, president and chief operating officer of the Bank.
SAGE's Tuition Rewards allows customers to earn guaranteed scholarship credits on CD and IRA accounts as well as current balances on home equity loans and lines of credits with USB. The value of the Tuition Rewards guaranteed scholarships can equal up to one full year's tuition at over 200 participating private colleges and universities across America. Currently USB has almost $6.5 million in accounts earning Tuition Rewards.Â
Paul Carty, principal of Archbishop Stepinac High School said the reason the school became involved was their concern for the rising cost of tuition. ÂOne focus of the school is to provide our students and their families opportunities for funding their higher education. He commented on the creative scholarship program and its value. ÂItÂs wonderful that a school and bank can work together to give back to the community.Â
The school began its participation in the program last year for all eligible freshman and sophomores. Beginning this fall and going forward, all incoming freshman will also be enrolled in the SAGE program. The program is featured at Senior Financial Aid Planning day where Bank representatives educate students and parents on the benefits of enrollment. ÂWeÂd like to see more families involved with the program. ItÂs of tremendous value to their educational future.Â
Union State Bank is extending this opportunity to all local schools. Each school district that registers for the SAGE program and agrees to a banking relationship with USB will receive $1,000.00 in Tuition Rewards for each student in their district.
