Introducing the Hospitality Leadership & Supervision Certificate Program Offered by The International School of Hospitality In Conjunction with UNLV

The launch of the Hospitality Leadership & Supervision Certificate program provides hospitality professionals with a "no-consequence" laboratory to hone their leadership and supervisory skills. This program, offered in conjunction with the Hospitality Outreach Services Division of UNLV's William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration, is designed specifically to develop a cadre of hospitality professionals equipped to lead and motivate employees at a high level.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) August 6, 2007 -- The International School of Hospitality (TISOH) is proud to introduce a new certificate program in Hospitality Leadership & Supervision, announced Timothy Lam, Director of The International School of Hospitality.

Operated in conjunction with the Hospitality Outreach Services Division of UNLV's William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration, this certificate program is designed to teach essential skills and knowledge that will allow a participant to become more effective in his/her present job, as well as improve an incumbent's chance of promotion to a higher level supervisory or managerial position. The course enables participants to better relate supervisory responsibilities to the mission of the organization. Through self introspection and understanding of supervisory responsibilities, participants will be able to hone their problem-solving skills, set individual goals congruent with those of the organization, delegate to team members, and overall, improve department or unit effectiveness.

The inaugural program begins September 13, 2007 at TISOH's new training facility. Classes meet Thursday evenings from 6-9pm for a period of ten weeks. Participants are required to successfully complete the classroom program to receive the Certificate. Within the 9 modules that comprise the program, topics include Mission Culture & Supervision, Mission-Based Planning, Effective Communication, Hat's Supervisors Wear, Motivational Variables and Supervision, Supervisor's Toolkit, Asset Management and Cost Effective Supervision, Conflict Resolution and Application of Principles in Problem Solving.

The distinguished instructors for this certificate program include Professors Ellis Norman MBA CHE and Mehmet Erdem Ph.D CHTP from the William F Harrah College of Hotel Administration at UNLV, Judge Frank Sullivan JD and Gary Potts MS OIE.

"A Certificate from TISOH opens doors to graduates looking for new careers or advancement opportunities. It is a clear demonstration of a candidate's initiative, drive and interest," said Patricia Norman, CMP, Academic Director of TISOH.
