Bakker has a Masters in Theology in the area of Religious Education from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in New Brunswick, NJ, and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a New Jersey Teaching Certificate from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. She has spent 25 years teaching religious education and Biblical studies, and is currently on staff at New Brunswick Theological Seminary.
