CAI's IT Metrics and Productivity Institute will continue producing a series of free, weekly webinars in the fall of 2007 that will show CIOs and senior IT practitioners around the world how to leverage best practices to compete in the global marketplace while dramatically improving the productivity and quality of their software development and maintenance organizations.
The webinars will include lectures by Capers Jones, author of 14 software management books and Chief Scientist Emeritus of Software Productivity Research, Ed Yourdon, author of "Decline and Fall of the American Programmer," Dr. Howard Rubin, Senior Gartner Advisor and former Technology Ambassador to the White House, Dr. Vic Basili, Director of the Fraunhofer Center for Experimental Software Engineering at the University of Maryland, David Garmus, author and former President of the International Function Point User's Group, Peter Hill, President of the International Software Benchmarking Standards Group, Dr. Robert Charette, world renowned software risk management expert, and Paul Strassmann, former CIO for the U.S. Department of Defense.
Specific topic areas covered in the fall of 2007 will include software measurement, software project estimation, software testing, software project management, software benchmarking, software risk management, rapid application development, legacy systems support, agile development, software six sigma, IT project governance, IT infrastructure library (ITIL) and outsourcing best practices.
These free webinars are being organized by the IT Metrics and Productivity Institute (ITMPI), an organization founded by CAI and dedicated to the promotion of best practices in IT.
