About the Matt Stansberry Band: The Matt Stansberry Band began in the mind of Matt in his early teens, and has grown into its present form through evolution, adaptation, and determination. The current cast of characters was assembled in November of 2004, and while this brought an end to a flourishing solo career it marked the beginning of a solid partnership between three friends. Benefiting from previous shared musical experiences, Matt, along with bassist Denver Greene and drummer Ben Tinius make up this modern-day power trio.
About Joe Stansberry: With the independent release of his debut EP, Unknown, singer/songwriter Joe Stansberry is ready to share his vision and artistry with a new and broader audience. Unknown is a fitting title, as well, embracing the duality of Joe's songwriting. Although, his name is heretofore unrecognized in mainstream music circles, his talent as a musician and lyricist has already started turning heads, so much so that the debut EP opens with the title and lone soundtrack cut for the psychological thriller "Unknown" that was directed by Simon Brand and starring James Caviezel, Greg Kinnear, Bridget Moynahan and Joe Pantoliano.
Inspired as much by poets and authors as any of his musical peers and predecessors, Stansberry knows no stylistic boundaries. allowing himself to follow his muse in any direction. Although he eschews comparisons, it's nearly impossible to not liken him to a young Jeff Buckley and associate him with other lyrically adept songwriters of the past decade such as Pete Yorn, Pete Droge and Ani DiFranco.
Stansberry's Free spirit and acute observation of society and the trappings surrounding him are profoundly evident in "Sky is Free" where he declares "Kings and Queens - no relation to me, up know I'll feel this breeze forever…" "Spiritual Drive" with it reggae inspired shuffle and poetic flow. Perhaps the clues to the inner workings of his soul are best reflected in "Music", however, where love and music dance hand in hand, at one with one another.
