Russia has long been a creative hotspot in the international advertising community
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 13, 2007
Global Advertising Strategies announced a call for entries for the 2nd Annual AdVision Awards today in New York City. For the second year in a row, the AdVision Awards will celebrate the international scale of Russian-language advertising by honoring the best from all over the world. One of the most affluent immigrant groups in the United States, the Russian-speaking population is projected to command a buying power of $204 billion by 2008.
Award entry registration began on August 8, 2007, and will continue until September 30, 2007. Advertisers and agencies can submit their work for a chance to win one or more awards in 18 different categories. The winners will be announced at the AdVision Awards Gala on November 16, 2007, at New York's elite Cipriani on Wall Street.
Unlike most advertising competitions that rely solely on the judges' opinions, AdVision finalists will be decided through online public voting. Voting will open on October 1, 2007, and will continue through November 5, 2007. Judges will then select the award winning ads from the finalists of the online voting process.
Over 170 entries from such noted brands as Yoplait and Lukoil, and advertising agencies like Leo Burnett and McCann-Erickson competed in last year's AdVision Awards. This year, the event organizers expanded the criteria to attract more entries from more countries. Advertisers from the United States, Canada, Israel, and Central & Eastern Europe have expressed interest in participating in the competition.
This year's panel of judges reflects the international scope of the competition - advertising industry leaders representing such world-renowned agencies and organizations as Young & Rubicam and the International Advertising Association, and countries like Israel, Ukraine, Canada, the United States, and Russia will be deciding on the AdVision 2007 winners.
"Russia has long been a creative hotspot in the international advertising community," said Michael Lee, IAA Executive Director, and past Chairman and World President of the International Advertising Association in New York, and one of the AdVision Awards judges
Entries will be awarded in 14 consumer industry-specific categories and four general categories including "Funniest Ad," "Best Graphics / Animation," "Best Creative Concept," "Best Out-of-Russia Ad," and, the coveted, "Grand Prix." Last year Czech Airlines was awarded the Grand Prix for their ad produced by Leo Burnett, Prague.
