Details about the huge HMV Underground contest have been surfacing gradually and the first of over 30 awe-inspiring prizes is a big one. When you think of rock and even more specifically rock guitar, the name Slash is bound to pop up. Known primarily for those chilling guitar licks in old Guns N' Roses tunes, Slash has more recently joined forces with the likes of Scott Weiland (formerly of Stone Temple Pilots) and former Guns N' Roses band mate Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum (formerly of Slash's Snakepit) to form Velvet Revolver.
What could make this contest and prize so big? Any Slash fan can tell you that his guitar of choice is a Gibson Les Paul. Staying true to Slash's love of the Les Paul HMV is giving away the world's coolest guitar- a Les Paul Standard autographed by Slash. All hard rock music fans, all guitar enthusiasts, and those simply wishing to re-live the joys of youth, this is the chance of a lifetime! This is only first set of details to be released, in a contest boasting over 30 HUGE prizes, this will be a hard one to follow.
The Contest is set to begin on August 21, 2007 and will run until 11:59 pm EST on October 1, 2007 and is open to all Canadian residents who are the age of majority or older. What is more, there are two ways to qualify for one of over 30 prizes. First, visit a HMV retail location and obtain an official "Back Stage Door" access pass, or visit http://www.hmv.ca and click on the contest entry banner. Each entrant will receive 5 entry ballots, which they will have the pleasure of allocating to the prize they are intent on winning.
