Lombardi Continues Momentum with Triple-Digit Growth in First Half of 2007

Lombardi® (http://www.lombardi.com), a leader in business process management (BPM) software, today released highlights of its business performance for 2007. During the first half of the year, the company achieved 109% overall revenue growth over the same period in 2006.

The company added dozens of new BPM clients to its rapidly expanding base, with customer traction across a wide variety of industries, including financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, government, transportation, technology, and insurance. Additionally, numerous existing customers expanded their deployments of Lombardi’s software; adding both additional licenses and services transactions during the first half.

During the first half of the year, the company shipped two major product innovations. The first, Lombardi Blueprint™ (http://www.lombardi.com/bpm-blueprint-product.php), an ‘on-demand’ process-improvement tool that is used to collaboratively map an organization’s business processes, identify problems, and prioritize improvement opportunities. Delivered as Software as a Service (SaaS), Blueprint is one of the first Web 2.0 applications that allows customers to immediately begin mapping their processes without having to download or install any software. To date, hundreds of companies have become Blueprint customers, encompassing thousands of users.

The company also shipped Teamworks® 6, the next generation of Lombardi’s award-winning BPM suite. The overarching theme of the Teamworks 6 suite is to deliver extensive horizontal and vertical process collaboration focused on all roles within an organization, covering the entire process lifecycle. In addition to the many new business-oriented enhancements and technical functionality introduced in Teamworks 6 Enterprise (http://www.lombardisoftware.com/enterprise-bpm-software.php), Lombardi has also introduced two new complementary products for the Teamworks family that further extend the reach of business process management and promote collaboration - Teamworks for Organization Management™, and Teamworks for SharePoint 2007™.

According to independent analyst firm Forrester Research in its August 2007 published report, “The Forrester Wave™: Human-Centric BPM For Java Platforms, Q3 2007,” Lombardi is a “truly visionary human-centric BPMS vendor” and is “a true Leader for its innovation around process design, optimization, and collaboration.”

Technical enhancements in Teamworks 6 for architects and developers include AJAX support, numerous enhancements to Web Services integration, expanded portal support, and security, as well as certification for the latest versions of various application servers, databases, Web browsers and Eclipse.

The company also continued its expansion efforts into Europe, opening up two new subsidiaries: Lombardi Software SARL, and Lombardi Software GmbH, to meet the rapidly growing demand for its process management platform within France and Germany respectively. Lombardi's European business strategy aims to achieve three key objectives: establish it as the predominant European BPM suite vendor, propose and deliver process transformation services for its global business customers, and enhance its position in markets with strong BPM software growth potential. Each subsidiary enables Lombardi to broaden its BPM efforts by ensuring that local Lombardi sales, delivery and support employees are available to work more closely with customers, and tailor their activity according to the specific needs of the local markets that they serve.

A summary of Lombardi's results from 1H 2007 include the following:

  • Overall revenue grew 109% (over 2006) during the first half with dozens of strategic customer wins and existing client deployment expansions including Capital One, Cascadia Community College, Boundless Network, Enkata Technologies, Hayes-Lemmerz, Intel, Lifeway Christian Resources, National Bank of Canada and StubHub.
  • Introduced Lombardi Blueprint™, the first on-demand collaborative process planning tool that enables companies to map processes, identify problems and prioritize improvement opportunities.
  • Shipped Teamworks® 6, the next generation of Lombardi’s award-winning BPM Suite, and introduced two new complementary products - Teamworks for Organization Management™, and Teamworks for SharePoint 2007™.
  • Expanded global sales and support ecosystem, adding 10 additional partners and resellers located across seven countries.
  • Announced major OEM and go-to-market partnerships with Capco, Enkata Technology and Progress Software.
  • Expanded European operations, adding direct sales and delivery operations in both France and Germany.
  • Continued to drive BPM industry thought-leadership by co-authoring the Object Management Group’s (http://www.omg.org) recently-ratified Business Process Definition Metamodel (BPDM) standard specification to deliver BPM portability and interoperability.
