Multilingual Singer/Songwriter Rue Melo Debut Album Set for Release September 25, 2007

Multilingual singer/songwriter Rue Melo breaks onto popular music scene with outstanding debut release. Rue Melo's highly anticipated debut, self-titled album, will be released September 25, 2007 as the first artist signed to Fighter Records, which is distributed by Universal Music Group's premier independent company, Fontana Distribution.

Los Angeles, CA (Billboard Publicity Wire/PRWEB ) August 15, 2007 -- Cross-cultural Rue Melo is the latest gem to emerge from Katrina Sirdofsky's famed Rebel Management. Rue Melo's highly anticipated debut, self-titled album, will be released September 25, 2007 as the first artist signed to Fighter Records, which is distributed by Universal Music Group's premier independent company, Fontana Distribution.

Rue Melo, a multilingual ingénue, oozes raw talent in English, French and Spanish. Born and raised in Paris, France to an artistic, multicultural family - her mother a dancer of French descent, her father an accomplished singer and guitarist from Uruguay - Rue Melo is a natural artist who is fearless, bold and full of life. Joined by guitarist Martin Estrada, bassist Bryan Bush, and drummer Idris al-Mutazz Tate, her soulful voice and witty lyrics lend themselves well to this cross-genre 12 track debut that is a true reflection of their many musical influences. Together they produce a unique sound that touches popular, world and urban music.

The dynamic first single "Check It," is a hip club track that highlights the group's eclectic alternative/R&B sound. "Check It" will hit radio and video shows this Fall. Illustrating the other end of the spectrum "Fallen," another notable track, is a soulful ballad that was featured in the Showtime series "The L-word" and appears on the album in English, French ("Tomber") and Spanish ("Cayendo").
