The Algarve knows how to throw a party -- Algarve Buzz (www.algarvebuzz.com) an online journal focused on the Algarve and all things Portuguese, announces massive success with Summer Beach Party.
Algarve, Portugal (PRWEB) August 17, 2007 -- Algarve Buzz, an online journal focused on the Algarve and all things Portuguese, announces massive success with Summer Beach Party.
80,000 people blanketed the beach of Praia dos Pescadores (Fisherman's Beach) on Monday August 13th in a free beach party hosted by the City of Albufeira -- with feature DJ, Bob Sinclar and special guests Gary "Nesta" Pine, from Bob Marley's Waillers and feature vocalist of "Love Generation," plus Dollarman from "Rock this Party."
The concert was a blow out success with thousands of all ages partying on the beach, cliff tops and in balconies overlooking the concert. The music started at 6 pm and lasted until the early hours of the following morning. The weather was a bit cooler than expected but the energy was so hot, no one seemed to care.
The Portuguese know how to throw a party - Euroup 2004 was a good example as are the annual firework shows in Madeira every New Years eve.
"We're a social culture and if we can find a reason to throw a party, we do it". Says, Eddie Correia-journalist & Blogger for Algarve Buzz and Director of Chama Inc. "The Algarve is a special place and it shines even more brightly in summer, attracting tourists from all over the country and across Europe; so a beach party is nothing new to us. But this year's turnout was incredible; there were people everywhere and from every age group imaginable. This is part of what makes the Algarve so wonderful -- you can take the kids, grandparents….the entire family is welcome!", says, Eddie.
Portugal is one of the oldest and smallest European Union members and has struggled economically and politically for some time, but the tide seems to be changing, and for the better. Algarve Buzz was created to open a door to all things Portuguese. "There's a rich history and culture here that dates back hundreds and hundreds of years, yet compared to other countries few people know where we are on the map," says Eddie. "Its time this changed."
Algarve Buzz is putting out the welcome mat and looking to provide an authentic glimpse of life in Portugal and the Algarve as it is today. To discover more about the Algarve visit www.algarvebuzz.com.
