Magician Jeff McBride to be Burned Alive on TV

Jeff McBride to guest star on magician Chris Angel's TV show Mind Freak on August 21 on A&E network.

(PRWEB) August 19, 2007 -- In 2000, he was burned alive on a beach in Monte Carlo. He survived. In 2003, he did it again in Bali. Now Jeff McBride is doing it one more time - but this time he's not the one going into the fire.

On August 21st, Jeff McBride will take the role of the Shaman overseeing the burning of Criss Angel, somewhere in the desert in Nevada. It was all taped earlier this year, and will be shown to audiences nationwide on "Mindfreak" next Tuesday, Aug. 21st on the A&E network.

Caught backstage in his dressing room at Trump Marina, McBride reflected on performing burned alive. "I've been the hottest magician on earth -- literally -- twice. Now it's Criss' turn. This is a scary illusion to attempt, because you face incredible temperatures when you're there in the center of the fire. So when Criss decided he wanted to do it, he also decided he wanted someone with him who had done it before."

McBride organized a troupe of drummers and fire eaters to join himself and Angel in the desert earlier this summer for the filming. "We had a terrific time with Criss and his crew. Audiences are in for a spectacular treat."

Did Angel survive the ordeal? Viewers will have to tune in to find out. McBride can be seen performing his own show live at The Shell at Trump Marina, through September 2. Local reviewers have terms the show "flawless," and commented that "McBride creates a world of mystery and fantasy that takes his show to a level most magicians can't achieve."

Show times are 8:00pm on Thurs. & Fri., 7:00pm & 9:30pm on Sat., and 7:00pm on Sun. Doors open one hour prior to each show. There will not be a show on Fri., August 24th. Ticket price is $25 plus tax. Tickets can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-736-1420 or on-line at www.ticketmaster.com.
