Jenzabar®, Inc., a leading provider of software, services and strategies for higher education, has announced that Park University, together with Jenzabar, was recognized as a Learning Impact Awards finalist at the IMS Learning Impact Conference held in Vancouver, British Columbia. Conference findings and highlights of the awards were published last week in the “Achieving Learning Impact 2007” report from the prestigious IMS Global Learning Consortium.

The Park University project, a global deployment of Park’s learning and administrative platforms on Jenzabar’s Internet Campus Solution (JICS), was cited in the IMS report as “an extremely large-scale and impressive deployment of a learning platform.” Those that demonstrated superior and measurable impact on faculty/teacher adoption, student achievement, and ease of implementation earned the finalist slots.

Established by the IMS Global Learning Consortium, the Learning Impact Awards are designed to recognize technology efforts demonstrating the highest levels of innovation, adoption, and learning impact in the support or enhancement of learning. The unique program evaluates nominations of established, new, and research-stage technology efforts from learning institutions all over the globe.

As a finalist, Park University, together with Jenzabar, was selected to showcase their efforts at the IMS Global Learning Consortium.

Park University (Parkville, Missouri) has grown rapidly over the past eight years. At one time a one-campus institution serving 1,500 students, Park has grown into a university with 43 campus centers and online distance learning programs that serve more than 25,000 students around the world. To accomplish this feat and effectively manage this growth, Park turned to its technology partner Jenzabar to ensure that the same level of service and learning experience is delivered to all students, faculty and staff, whether they are on site at the main Parkville campus or anywhere in the world.

The University and Jenzabar worked closely together to deploy Park’s administrative and academic systems on Jenzabar’s Internet Campus Solution. JICS, a portal platform designed exclusively for higher education, provides an institution’s constituents with a single point of access, 24x7, to a virtually limitless number of communications, Web services, community building, and e-learning applications. For their student and business administrative systems, the University relies on Jenzabar CX, a fully integrated, highly scalable enterprise resource planning solution.

Park University’s global deployment of its Jenzabar administrative system on JICS has resulted in accurate, accessible student and financial information for administrators, improved satisfaction among students, and a nearly paperless university, according to Sara Freeman, CIO of Park University. “We are about as close to being a paperless operation as possible,” she explained. “This has resulted in faster, more accurate administration and higher student satisfaction. The scalability of the Jenzabar software that has enabled us to grow like this is simply amazing.” She added, “We take our system up-time and availability very seriously. We grew the University on Jenzabar and we run the University on Jenzabar. It is the center of all our IT services.”
