Votenet™ Solutions, Inc. and Sustainable Harvest International Encourage Organizations to "Vote for Trees" and Transition to Online Voting

Votenet ™ Solutions Inc., (VSI) the global leader in 100% web-based voting software and election consulting to private organizations, has launched a new partnership with Sustainable Harvest International (SHI).

Washington, DC (PRWEB) August 22, 2007 -- Votenet Solutions' green partnership with Sustainable Harvest International honors new eBallot ™ customers by planting a grove of 30 trees through a new program called "Vote for Trees.""We're giving customers two ways to help the environment," explained Michael Tuteur, CEO of Votenet™ Solutions, Inc. "Organizations will save paper when they use online ballots and in a combined effort with SHI we will plant trees to support their important work."

Votenet Solutions has established a first year campaign goal of planting 5,000 trees. "Our goal is well within reach and we're eager to celebrate our clients' contribution to the environment by planting trees," said Tuteur.

With the cost of postage and paper continually rising and online voting offering a more streamlined and secure alternative to paper ballots, more and more organizations are moving their board of directors, leadership and awards voting online. Considering the environmental benefit, organizations now have one more reason to make the switch to online voting and feel good about it.

Sustainable Harvest International is building a global network of local partners working towards environmental, economic and social sustainability. SHI facilitates long-term collaboration amongst trained local staff, farmers and communities to implement sustainable land-use practices that will alleviate poverty by restoring ecological stability. Entering its 10th year, Sustainable Harvest International is experiencing tremendous growth in popularity. Charity Navigator (http://charitynavigator.org/) has rated SHI with the highest category for a non-profit operation, Four Stars.

According to Phil Bailey, SHI's Strategic Relations Director, "Central America has lost more than half of its rainforests in the last 50 years, contributing to mass extinctions and global warming. Rainforest destruction also wreaks havoc on local populations who depend on the rainforest for their survival."

"I'm so impressed with the work SHI is doing for the world," commended Libah Grossman, Senior Elections Consultant with Votenet Solutions Inc. and chairperson of the program. "It feels good to know as Votenet grows, so does our contribution to the environment."
