4th Annual Podcast and New Media Expo to Be in Las Vegas in 2008

Move to major convention city the result of the explosion of independent audio and video content.

Mission Viejo, CA (PRWEB) August 23, 2007 -- TNC New Media, organizers of the Podcast and New Media Expo, today officially announced their 2008 dates and location. The 4th Annual convention for independent online audio and video content creators will take place on August 14-16, 2008 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

"This move represents the continuing growth of independent content on the web as creators from around the world create more broadcast-quality audio and video," said Tim Bourquin, Founder and CEO of TNC New Media. "After three years in Southern California at the Ontario Convention Center, the event has outgrown the current venue. It's an exciting time to be involved in online multimedia content."

After just three short years, the New Media Expo has become the "must attend" event for content creators from around the world. The larger Las Vegas venue will allow the event to continue to grow and offer additional education and networking opportunities for independent audio and video creators who attend each year.

As traditional television and radio networks continue to grapple with fragmented audiences, their competition increasingly isn't other networks' fall lineup, but thousands and, perhaps soon, even millions of individuals creating digital media for an online audience. As more hardware and video editing software tools become available to bring that content to the traditional television set, the gateway that traditionally kept people from producing programs for television -- the network -- will no longer be an issue. Online audio and video content is already available to an audience of millions alongside traditional broadcasts through services like TiVo® and AppleTV™.

About Podcast and New Media Expo:
The 3rd Annual Podcast & New Media Expo, taking place in Ontario, California on September 28-30, 2007, is an annual convention that educates individuals and companies about how to produce high-quality audio and video digital content, grow a loyal audience, and market or monetize that content in creative ways. The Expo is also a major networking event where content creators can share ideas and build partnerships. Through unique conference sessions, free exhibit hall presentations, networking functions and an exhibit hall, the entire event is devoted to the industry of creating, delivering, and profiting from unique digital content for the Internet and any device the consumer chooses. Podcast and New Media Expo was named Expo Magazine's "Best New Show" winner for 2006.

The convention is sponsored by Revver, Ambrosia Software, Podango, and GIMP.tv. Media partners for the Expo include FeedBurner. The Mac Observer, Blogger and Podcaster Magazine, iPodObserver.com, and iProng.com. The Official Content Delivery Network is Limelight Networks and the Exclusive Audio Provider is GigaVox Media.
