QBS is pleased to announce that Brian Grafsgaard, Director of Professional Services for QBS, was recognized by the Minnetonka School District as its Youth Program Volunteer of the Year. Grafsgaard launched a girls' recreational basketball league in 2004 at Minnetonka High School and been a coach and director various youth sports programs within the community. Grafsgaard received the award at the Minnetonka School District's Celebration of Excellence event May 10, 2007.
"Brian Grafsgaard was the driving force in the re-launch of the Minnetonka Community Education Girls' High School Recreation Basketball League, in the winter of 2004," said Tim Litfin, Executive Director at Minnetonka Community Education Services. "Community Education, with Brian's help, has developed an opportunity for girls to continue playing through high school, even if they are not on the high school team."
The Minnetonka School District recognizes several individuals and programs each year at its annual awards event. Awards are given in several categories including child-centered excellence in teaching, youth and adult community education programs.
Grafsgaard continues to serve as the league director and also coaches for the league. He is credited with more than doubling participation in the girls' league between 2005 and 2007. Grafsgaard is the Director of Professional Services for QBS, a Minnetonka-based technology services firm. Grafsgaard and his wife name live in Minnetonka with their number children.
