Mark Williamson, internationally known granite sculptor, has joined the Gallery of Rockport in Texas to feature his large body of art work.

Internationally known sculptor, Mark Williamson, has chosen The Gallery of Rockport in Rockport, Texas as his newest venue. Williamson's granite expertise endears a wide range of clients from a focal point piece in a home niche or sculpture garden to the looming and lyrical icons of a business or city park.

Trained in marble sculpting in Pietrasanta, Italy and by legendary artist, Jesus Moroles, Mark has developed a unique style dedicated to his vision and to extract nature's beauty from the stone. He wants to bring something fresh and perhaps a little more colorful to the time-honored pursuit of stone carving by incorporating layers of mixed granites, tinted resins and a play of polished and rough surfaces. His style is captivating, refreshing and highly prized by sophisticated collectors.

The Gallery is hosting Sundowner Saturdays on the first Saturday of each month. On September 1, Mark Williamson, world-renowned wildlife artist, Herb Booth and Coastal Bend favorite, watercolorist Charlotte Shannon-Hilton are scheduled. These regular receptions are "the place to be" for the Rockport social scene to hangout and share a little wine with some of Texas' art legends and emerging stars.

The Gallery is widely known as one of the region's finest galleries and truly a "must see" destination in one of the "top one hundred small art towns in America." The Gallery, just like Rockport itself, is friendly, informal and welcoming to tourists, artists, collectors and local folks. Come see them on your next art adventure and experience for yourself why they are setting the standard for "the art of the Texas coast and more." The Gallery is surely another great reason to love Rockport.

The Gallery of Rockport is located at 503 S. Austin Street in historical downtown Rockport, Texas. Gallery hours are 10 - 5 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays.
