MyArabPlace.com (http://www.myarabplace.com) is the new social networking site just for the Arab community. The tag line, "friendships that last", really captures the purpose of the network. This free site allows Arabs to connect, build friendships, and start relationships. Members can chat, send e-mails, post photos, write blogs, and participate in discussion forums.
After registering at no cost, members can join groups based on their interests such as food and wine, entertainment, fashion, or health and wellness. A classified page allows members to advertise to others in the community, while the events page publicizes happenings of interest.
With each visit to the home page of MyArabPlace.com, visitors will see a different featured member, allowing them to see immediately who is involved with the site. A gallery page shows many members in candid portraits.
The browse function lets members find new friends according to education, religion, or location preferences. Blogs can be sorted by the mood of the visitor to allow for current relevance. Other features include polls and quizzes.
MyArabPlace.com currently has 800 members and is growing every day. Meet Layalina, a single 25-year old Pisces from California; Eyacoub, a 37-year old Egyptian man, and big_snake, a 30-year old man from Jordan.
MyArabPlace is the brainchild of Johnny Khoury, a Palestinian living in San Jose. "Living as a minority is tough. It is hard to find others with similar interests and values. Starting this site has allowed me to connect with many other Arabs around the world, which has been a great experience for me. I know my members will enjoy it as I do."
