Women Presidents' Organization Chicago Survey Predicts Business Growth in 2007 for 86% of Members: Group Leadership Guides $400 Million in Regional and Global Business

Chicago-area women presidents of multimillion-dollar businesses predict growth in 2007. A recent survey of the Women Presidents' Organization Chicago revealed that 86% of members predict growth in 2007. While overall growth predictions averaged up to 70% for some companies, the majority of growth was predicted to be in the 1-20% range.

A recent survey of the Women Presidents' Organization Chicago revealed that 86% of members predict growth in 2007. While overall growth predictions averaged up to 70% for some companies, the majority of growth was predicted to be in the 1-20% range.

More findings from the survey include:

  •     85% of the WPO-Chicago grew gross revenue 25 to 45% in year 2006 compared to 2005
  •     Net income grew 69% or more in 2006 compared to 2005
  •     More than half of the respondents noted that the top three challenges in growing a business to be managing the growth, human resource management and customer relationship management.

Women are driving an increasing number of successful businesses and Chicago has one of the largest chapters of the Women Presidents' Organization, a nonprofit organization of more than 1,000 women presidents running multimillion-dollar businesses spanning across North America. Between 1997 and 2006, women-owned firms grew at a rate almost twice the U.S. average. They posted 2006 revenues of $1.10 trillion and employed 7.2 million people, according to the Center for Women's Business Research.
