Kathy Quinn, a professional Certifed Life Coach who focuses on equipping clients with the knowledge of their own potential and the tools for achievement, is relocating to Ithaca to continue her work at Cornell, Ithaca College, and the Finger Lakes region. Her website is http://www.coachingforsmartpeople.com/
Certification for coaches often is an investment and requires coaches to undergo their own life changes before they are ready to coach others. Quinn says at times it can be quite rigorous and it always requires that you "walk the talk", meaning that you embody the coaching principles in your own life, so that you really can offer understanding and true support to your clients.
What began as a second career soon took priority for Quinn as she realized the need in her community was so great. "I was humbled by the gratitude people had for the process." The business took off. In 2007 Quinn realized she would be able to "re-career:" to focus solely on coaching. "Ithaca is so inspiring, open and friendly, the receptivity was what made me decide to continue my business here. She looks forward to being able to serve the Ithaca educators, businesses, and community.
As a former educator, Kathy understands the increasing demands upon educators. After receiving her certification in life coaching fellow educators began to seek her out in the workplace for coaching strategies-as a result her practice took off.
In addition to a flourishing coaching practice she offers mind-body coaching seminars that combine cognitive methods with creative exercises and energetic posturing. She has developed a toolbox of coaching strategies that mold the vision and provide critical leverage for change. Her signature approach is effective and powerful for discovering the unique opportunity within everyday challenges.
Kathy has over 20 years experience as an educator and creativity-training consultant. She holds an MFA from Syracuse University along with certification in education and coaching. Kathy will be arriving in Ithaca in September, her website, http://www.coachingforsmartpeople.com/ is available for inquiries.
