San Francisco Health Plan Selects Plexis Healthcare Systems Solution

San Francisco Health Plan, a city-sponsored health plan providing health insurance to more than 50,000 San Franciscans, and third party administrator for the San Francisco Department of Public Health's new Healthy San Francisco program, selected Plexis to provide benefits administration, electronic data interchange (EDI), and advanced analytic and reporting solution for Healthy San Francisco.

Ashland, OR (PRWEB) August 31, 2007 -- San Francisco Health Plan, a city-sponsored health plan providing health insurance to more than 50,000 San Franciscans, and third party administrator for the San Francisco Department of Public Health's new Healthy San Francisco program, selected Plexis to provide benefits administration, electronic data interchange (EDI), and advanced analytic and reporting solution for Healthy San Francisco.

San Francisco Health Plan (SFHP) was created by the City and County of San Francisco to provide high quality medical care to the largest number of low-income San Francisco residents possible, while supporting San Francisco's public and community-minded doctors, clinics, and hospitals. The plan's members choose from more than 2,300 primary care providers and specialist, six hospitals, and 100 pharmacies. Given its experience and success in the planning and implementation of managed health systems, SFHP was selected by the SF Department of Public Health (DPH) to oversee -among other administrative tasks - the billing component of the City's Healthy San Francisco program, the City's non-insurance solution for uninsured residents.

SFHP selected Plexis Claims Manager to provide premium billing and receivables management for the Healthy San Francisco program. Healthy San Francisco is not insurance, but provides a primary "medical home" to participants, allowing a greater focus on preventive care, as well as specialty care, urgent and emergency care, mental health care, substance abuse services, laboratory, inpatient hospitalization, radiology, and pharmaceuticals. In addition, SFHP also selected Plexis EDIWorks for HIPAA-ready electronic data interchange, and Plexis Analytics for real-time on line analytic processing (OLAP) and reporting requirements.
