Miami, FL (PRWEB) August 31, 2007
You don't need a 60" HDTV this weekend to experience one of the most intense sporting events of the year. The championship match of the inaugural UltimateBet Heads-Up Smackdown tournament is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, September 2. And it's only happening at UltimateBet.com.
A total of 64 players began competing in a fierce one-on-one battle on August 4. With only one player surviving each heads-up match, the field of players was cut in half every week. On Sunday, the two players left standing will battle it out for a first place prize of $11,200, a limited edition Heads-Up Smackdown championship ring and entry into the end-of-year Heads-up Bracket of Champions where the winner gets to play 11-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth for $30,000.
Players won't have to wait until Sunday to witness the heads-up intensity. The first bracket of the second one-on-one tournament begins on Saturday, September 1, one day prior to the championship battle of the first tournament. On September 30, the second championship match will be carried out online.
Details on a third tournament have yet to be released. However, a visit to the UltimateBet.com Heads-Up Smackdown promotion page reveals that several more rounds are planned.
Full details on the Heads-Up Smackdown can be found online at UltimateBet.com.
