Travel search engine Fly for Good, Inc. announces its ability to meet the increasing demands of volunteer vacations, or voluntourism. The popularity of volunteer vacations continues to rise, with nearly one in four travelers interested in taking a volunteer vacation. With Fly for Good, humanitarian employees, volunteers and their families can search and book airfare at http://www.flyforgood.com , saving up to 50 percent off published airfares and getting more flexible rules and regulations.
In the recent Voice of the Traveler Survey, conducted by the Travel Industry Association and Synovate, it found that:
- One-quarter (24 percent) of travelers said they were currently interested in taking a volunteer or service-based vacation.
- Interest was strongest among baby boomers, with the largest share (47 percent) of those interested in taking a volunteer vacation falling into the 35-to 54-year-old age range.
- More than one in ten travelers (11 percent) said they were more interested in taking a volunteer or service-based vacation now compared to five years ago.
“More than 12 major airlines already offer humanitarian discounts for volunteers,” said company President, Ryan Skoog. “We are the first to combine all of these discounts into a comprehensive online booking engine.”
