New technology can save money and help the environment.

Paper or plastic? Sure, we have heard this phrase, but where? A grocery store, absolutely, but an insurance agency? You heard correctly. Starting October 1, 2007, Nusurance Corp online at http://www.nusurance.com will be asking its commercial clients exactly that question.

Starting October 1, Nusurance will be asking its commercial policy holders if they want their policies delivered traditionally the paper way or via plastic CD. This move will not only help save paper and trees, but it will be a cost cutting measure as well as a convenience. Both the agency and the clients will have to store less paper, save on mailing cost, and most importantly enjoy the convenience.

Nusurance Corp. president Chris Kazor explains, "I was preparing delivery of a commercial policy the other day when I realized that the postage cost to send this policy was going to be nearly $5. Needing to answer a question related to the policy for another agent, I began going page-by-page looking for the answer. I was having a devil of a time finding the information. I then asked my folks to please scan the policy to a PDF format. In just a few moments the document was scanned and with the help of the search tool on Adobe ® it found the paragraph in seconds."

Reception to the idea is overwhelming, "During our trial we have yet to have anyone ask for a 'paper' copy." Kazor explained. Not only is Nusurance scanning in the policies but all the original documentation, including the copy of the application and all signature pages, will be included on the CD sent to the client.

Kazor went on to explain that insurance agencies as well as companies must embrace the new technologies to survive. "Our clients want better service and they want it for less money; almost an impossible task, but with the use of available technology we can save money and provide better service." Those agencies and companies who do not enthusiastically embrace the new technologies will crash and burn."
