Event marks move management firm's first year of service in Boston, one of AARP's "5 Great Places to Live" for baby-boomers.

We're thrilled that AARP will be having their event in Boston as we celebrate this milestone. Boston is a great place for baby-boomers to retire, and we've had the pleasure of helping many active adults in the region downsize their homes or transition their parents into senior living arrangements.

Downsizing and move management provider Hands of Change (http://www.handsofchange.net), Greater Boston's premier moving and transition facilitator for active adults, is pleased to announce that it will exhibit at AARP's "Life at 50+" National Event and Expo. The event will take place in the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center from September 6 to 8, 2007. Moving, packing and downsizing consultants from Hands of Change and parent company Gentle Giant Moving Company will be on hand at the event to answer questions about residential moving and to provide information about transitional support for seniors and active adults.

Launched in the fall of 2006, Hands of Change is also preparing to celebrate its first anniversary. Director of senior move services Carol Oniskey remarked, "We're thrilled that AARP will be having their event in Boston as we celebrate this milestone. Boston is a great place for baby-boomers to retire, and we've had the pleasure of helping many active adults in the region downsize their homes or transition their parents into senior living arrangements."

Boston was named one of five great places for baby-boomers and seniors to live and retire by AARP Magazine in its September-October issue this year. "Because Boston invests in making itself friendly to older adults, many people decide to stay in the city where they've lived for years. Many retired couples are attracted from the suburbs to downtown neighborhoods as they seek smaller homes," noted Oniskey. Boston was credited by AARP as having an abundance of culture that active adults can explore, either as residents or as visitors to the September event.

"Regardless of where you move," Oniskey points out, "if you have been in your home for more than a decade, the task of organizing, coordinating, and conducting a move can be overwhelming. "Hands of Change can make this process easier for anyone who is ready to take the next step but could use some help and support to handle the logistics and work involved."
