Fashion Jewelry Hall of Fame Inducts Carl Schraysshuen, Co-Founder of Carl-Art

Fashion jewelry manufacturer and inventor Carl Schraysshuen made his mark on the costume jewelry industry.

Attleboro, Massachusetts (PRWEB) September 22, 2007 -- The Fashion Jewelry Hall of Fame's most recent inductee, Carl Schraysshuen, has a story worth telling and reading. As with many fashion jewelry designers, Mr. Schraysshuen's name never became a household word like Tiffany or Chanel, but his designs have stood the test of time and are now eagerly searched out by vintage and costume jewelry collectors who know what to look for in vintage costume jewelry for collecting and trade.

One of the most interesting aspects of the jewelry designed and produced by Carl-Art are the simple clean lines mixed with graceful form. The company, founded in 1933, is still operating (under different ownership), so the brand has been an enduring one.

The variety of works produced by Carl-Art include gold-filled, gold, and silver jewelry designs, some with rhinestones and others, tailored. As is true with artists and designers of all kinds, the circumstances of Carl Schraysshuen's life influenced his quality and style. Mr. Schraysshuen was a wounded veteran of World War I and was awarded the Iron Cross.

The article about this fascinating jewelry designer can be found at the Guyot Brothers website at www.guyotbrothers.com/jewelry-history/jewelry-hall-of-fame/carl-art/carl-art1.htm. Included in the article is a detailed photo gallery of some of Carl-Art's most recognized designs, including a flower finding patented by Schraysshuen and frequently used by one of Carl-Art's customers, Walter Lampl, another costume jewelry great.

"This is costume jewelry at its highest level. It will be enjoyed not only by the vintage jewelry collector and aficionado but also by students and casual admirers as well", stated Stephen Guyot, President of Guyot Brothers.

Located in Attleboro, Massachusetts, the Birthplace of the Jewelry Industry in America, Guyot Brothers continues to manufacture their high-quality line of stamped jewelry findings, including filigree, charms, floral, and other decorative items. The company maintains a showroom at their factory in Attleboro.

For those who are interested, a free jewelry findings e-letter is available. Guyot's free irregular e-letter is a leading method of choice for being apprised of market trends, items in the works, and new Guyot jewelry findings. An archive of past issues is available for browising at http://www.guyotbrothers.com/guyotstudios/Archive1.htm.
