Industry Roll-Up Underway as the Career Management Alliance acquires the International Association of Career Coaches

The Career Management Alliance (formerly, Career Masters Institute) announces its acquisition of the International Association of Career Coaches (IACC). This initiative was undertaken as the first step in The Alliance's strategic plan to roll-up, consolidate, formalize and otherwise strengthen the global career-management industry.

Peterborough, NH (PRWEB) September 6, 2007 -- The Career Management Alliance (formerly, Career Masters Institute) announces its acquisition of the International Association of Career Coaches. This initiative was undertaken as the first step in The Alliance's strategic plan to roll-up, consolidate, formalize and otherwise strengthen the global career-management industry.

Founded in June of 1999 by Wendy S. Enelow, the Career Masters Institute was the first-ever membership association to span all sectors of the career-management industry. This includes career coaching, career counseling, professional resume writing, outplacement, college and university career development, government and military career transition, corporate human resources, recruitment and other industries closely aligned with career management.

The association was founded in direct response to the changing employment landscape throughout the US and other industrialized nations worldwide, and the remarkable growth of the career-management industry over the past 10 years. It was clearly evident that there was a need for an association to set industry-wide standards and quality controls for the delivery of career-management services, and the Career Masters Institute fulfilled that need while creating a vibrant community of career professionals worldwide.

In January of 2007, Kennedy Information (a division of BNA) acquired the Career Masters Institute and rebranded the association into its new identity as the Career Management Alliance (www.careermanagementalliance.com). Kennedy's mission is to further professionalize the career-management industry, just as they have successfully done with the professional recruitment industry over the past 30 years.

An integral part of that standardization is the acquisition and integration of other career associations into The Alliance to create a single entity responsible for the training, development and professional conduct of career practitioners worldwide. The International Association of Career Coaches (IACC) was identified as the initial acquisition target based on that association's unique membership and service offerings. Founded in 2006 by Marcia Bench (president of Career Coach Institute - (www.careercoachinstitute.com), IACC members will now enjoy all of the benefits, resources, opportunities and more available to The Alliance membership which include:

  • 1500-page, password-protected, website of career-management tools and resources
  • Career-management blog - www.CareerMastersTalk.com
  • Weekly e-newsletter with the latest information on employment trends, statistics and more
  • Partnerships with more than 30 career companies that provide a diversity of job-search, career-management, career-coaching and other services/products
  • Member-to-member elist exchange for member support with questions, challenges, client issues, business ownership concerns, technology acquisitions and much more
  • Article and book publishing opportunities
  • Public speaking and training opportunities
  • Professional volunteer opportunities
