"The Dead Don't Cry" is the dark tale of what happens when gumshoe Matt Ryan takes on what seems to be the routine case of finding Rebeca Raintree's missing son David. Before long, two of the people Matt has questioned about David are brutally murdered. In each case, the killer has written out the word "hangman", using the victim's blood. Matt realizes he has stumbled onto some terrible secret that has been hidden for 20 years and he must find out what's going on before the killer gets him, too.

George J. Condon wrote "The Dead Don't Cry" because he loves the kind of hard boiled detective stories written by Daschell Hammett, Raymond Chandler and Ross Macdonald.
