Denver, CO (PRWEB) September 7, 2007
Wi-Ex (http://www.wi-ex.com), the leading provider of consumer cell phone signal boosters, today announced its Standard CEDIA/Installer Starter Kit and Premium CEDIA/Installer Kit. Showcased at CEDIA in booth 3701the Installer Kits feature the zBoost YX610-PCS-CEL Dual-band ProPack and include everything the professional installer needs to provide a solution to solve indoor cell phone coverage problems.
According to the zBoost Cell Phone Signal Survey recently commissioned by Wi-Ex and conducted by Harris Interactive®, 69% of cell phone owners have experienced service problems such as dropped calls (46%), poor signal reception (39%) or dead zones (33%). The zBoost ProPack, a revolutionary cell phone signal booster, uses a Bi-Directional Amplifier (BDA) System that captures and amplifies the cell signal and Extends a Cell Zone™ up to 10,000 square feet.
"Our recent survey reiterates exactly how challenging it is for consumers to get and keep a strong indoor cell phone signal and we wanted to provide installers with a simple and effective way to address this problem," Lloyd R. Meese, President and CEO of Wi-Ex. "The Dual Band product covers all of the cell phone frequencies - except for Nextel and allows customers to switch frequencies without having to worry about the product continuing to improve their cell phone signal."
The zBoost CEDIA/Installer Kit includes everything an installer needs to help their customers improve indoor cell phone coverage. Both kits include the zBoost ProPack for all cell phones, color customer brochures, magnetic signs for the car or van, dealer CED with sample print ads, product graphics, logos, banner ads, customer presentations and complete product training and a sales book with marketing and product information. The Standard Kit includes one zBoost ProPack and retails for $395 while the Premium Kit includes three zBoost ProPack and retails for $999.
This zBoost ProPack captures and amplifies both the 800MHz signal and 1900MHz bands simultaneously and increases the signal coverage while decreasing dropped or missed calls. Like all Wi-Ex products, the zBoost ProPack uses patent-pending technology to protect the carrier network. In addition, it supports voice calls or data services and works with all phones and carriers except Nextel.
The zBoost ProPack product package includes an antenna configuration system consisting of two antennas, a Yagi Antenna for Cellular and a Panel Antenna for the PCS band. An antenna combiner is included to combine the signals from the two antennas onto one coaxial cable for connection to the zBoost Base Unit. For best signal enhancement, the antennas should be installed in the attic or outside where the cell signal may be stronger.
The zBoost for professionals is only sold to professional installers, such as CEDIA members (http://www.cedia.org). zBoost ProPack is also easy to install, affordable with good margins for installers and has the same sleek consumer-friendly design of the strong-selling single-band versions, the zBoost YX600-PCS and zBoost YX600-CEL.
In addition to the zBoost Dual Band ProPack, zBoost offers a suite of consumer products that improve in-door cell phone signals through the creation of cell zones. They are easy to install, affordable and increase in-building coverage by up to 2500 sq ft. The zBoost product line is compatible with 800MHz and 1900MHz and range in price from $169 - $399 including:

About the zBoost Cell Phone Signal Survey
This survey was conducted online within the United States by Harris Interactive on behalf of Wi-Ex between January 23 and January 25, 2007 among 2,413 adults 18 years of age or older. Figures for region, age within gender, education, household income and race/ethnicity were weighted where necessary to bring them into line with their actual proportions in the population. Propensity score weighting was also used to adjust for respondents' propensity to be online.
With a pure probability sample of 2,413 adults one could say with a ninety-five percent probability that the overall results have a sampling error of +/- 3 percentage points. The sampling error for the sub-samples of cell phone owners (n= 2,052) and cell phone owners who make cell phone calls at home (n= 1,755) would be higher and may vary. However, that does not take other sources of error into account. This online survey is not based on a probability sample and therefore no theoretical sampling error can be calculated.
