When it comes to hair, it's a fine line between work, and artwork, with Anh Tran. He lives and breathes to cut, style and sculpt. Anh's clients include music artists, designers, and the fashion conscious, who crave styles ranging from punk, and fashion-forward, to timeless, classic hollywood, period hair. Inspired by designers like Helmut Lang, Jil Sanders, Marc Jacobs, Anh's cuts are subtle but edgy, sophisticated yet cool. Expert styling, exacting detail, and up-to-the-minute cuts, these are the hallmarks of "Anhair."
Prior to moving to Tom Brophy, Anh created his signature looks and trained stylists at Gavert Atelier in Beverly Hills, just two doors down from the new salon Tom Brophy, where his clientele includes many of Hollywood's own, including Jessica Alba, Gillian Anderson (for both the 2006 Emmys, and the 2007 Golden Globes) Christine Lahti, Jessica Tuck, Chiaki Kuriyama (from Kill Bill), Amy Locane, Sean Patrick Flanery, and Traci Lords. Anh is also very well-known and well-versed in creative and natural-looking hair extensions.
After receiving a degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and later his cosmetology license, Anh began a six-and-a-half year relationship with Toni&Guy as a stylist, which led to him becoming both the manager of their salon and a senior art team member. "While at Toni&Guy I began working at hair and fashion shows," Anh adds, "and I soon found myself working backstage for such designers as Michelle Mason, Cantu & Castillo, Private, John Sakalis and Naqada at numerous Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weeks."
Anh is also a member of KMS USA Artistic Team, where he trains stylists in the latest hair trends across the country, and internationally as well. He has been with KMS for over 3 years, and his enthusiasm is still running high."I'm ecstatic to be on the KMS USA Artistic Team," exclaims Anh. "It's great to work with excellent products and amazing talents and I'm honored to be working alongside such a top-notch lineup."
Recent work includes appearances on Oxygen Network's Janice Dickenson's Modelling Agency, commercial and print ads for C&A Jeans, and the new KMS Foundations DVD.
